The film stars Dakota Johnson as the titular character, an emergency responder turned clairvoyant mutant after she realizes she can view the future. Directed by S.J. Clarkson, who directed episodes of Marvel shows "The Defenders" and "Jessica Jones," the movie follows Johnson's character as she works with a team of three superpowered young women.
"Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing's most enigmatic heroines," the official synopsis reads. "Forced to confront revelations about her past, [Madame Web] forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present."
The cast includes "Euphoria" star Sydney Sweeney, "Severance" actor Adam Scott and "Scream Queens" star Emma Roberts. Here is what else to know about the upcoming superhero film.

Sony's "Madame Web" will release in theatres on Feb. 14, 2024, just in time for any Valentines Day movie dates.

Who is the villain in 'Madame Web'?
Madame Web's nemesis Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) will most likely play the main villain in the upcoming Marvel movie. In Marvel Comics, he is a wealthy and skilled businessman with powers nearly identical to Spider-Man including the ability to stick to surfaces and a spider sense.

He is also known for delivering the iconic line "with great power comes great responsibility" to the iconic superhero.
